Rise:The Ottoman empire was divided into independant states called Ghazi emirates. Ghazi emirates were lead by Osman I , he moved the Ottoman capital to Bursa. Osman I was admired a strong ruler long after his death.

 The Ottoman empire lasted from 1258-1920 A.D. At the height of its power , 16th and 17th centuries, it controlled southeastern europe,middle east and north Africa. It contained 29 provinces. Constantinople was the capital which is now known as Istanbul. The Ottoman empire was the center of interactions between the eastern and western worlds for 6 centuries.Decline:From 1828-1908 the empire faced many challenges in defending itself from foriegn invasions.The turkish war of independance: ( 1919-1920)With the leadership of Mustafa Pasha he gained back Constantinople. In 1923 Turkey became an official independant country.
